Raj is Chief Executive Officer of D&L Partners, SA a boutique consultancy focused on innovation, based in Geneva. He brings over 20 years of experience in the innovation and information technology sectors to bear on the business issues of technology enabled companies as a Board member, venture capitalist, management consultant and advisor.
Previously, as a General Partner for Pervasive Technology Ventures, and also as a Principal for the New York-based Venture Capital arm of Investcorp International, Raj was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing new investments in technology-led start-ups, and for maintaining existing investments. He sat on the Boards of several of Investcorp’s investments.
Raj joined Investcorp in 2001 and participated in the raising of two funds worth over $500 million. Over six years he invested approx $70 million in nine companies, with a personal IRR of 30%.
At Booz, Allen & Hamilton (now Booz & Co.) for six years, Raj was a principal and a cofounder of the e-Business core team in Europe, where he led strategy and technology projects in the electronic business, telecommunications, and financial services sectors.
At IBM, he taught software design and distributed computing at the corporation’s European Education Center in La Hulpe, Belgium for three years.
He has also held multiple positions within IBM over a ten year period, including consultant for the Telecoms and Media Consulting group, systems engineer and technical expert for PC operating systems and programming languages, and lead technical support for the re-seller channel in PC operating systems, graphics and languages.
Raj holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computing Science from Imperial College in London, England. He is a member of the Securities Institute and TiE.
