Kim Taipale
General Partner

Mr. Taipale is a general partner in Parkview TMB. He has over twenty-five years of diverse experience relating to information and communication technology and related areas.

Mr. Taipale is also the managing partner of Stilwell Holding LLC, a private investment firm, and the founder and executive director of the Stilwell Center, a private research and advisory organization focused on information, technology, and national security policy. Additionally, he is a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute and serves on the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age.

Mr. Taipale was previously the director of new media development at Columbia Innocvation Enterprise at Columbia University where he was earlier the associate director and a senior fellow at the Institute for Learning Technologies.

Prior thereto, Mr. Taipale was an investment banker at Lazard Frères & Company, the senior corporate development officer of The Pullman Company, a Fortune 500 technology, transportation, defense and aerospace manufacturing company, and, prior thereto, a lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Mr. Taipale is a frequent invited speaker, has appeared before Congressional and other national committees, and is the author of numerous academic papers, journal articles, and book chapters on information, technology, and national security issues.

Mr. Taipale received his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He also received his M.A. and his M.Ed. in communications from Columbia University and his LL.M. from the Columbia Law School.
